First things first: Let’s make sure you get that perfect fit. Because our buds are technically in-ear monitors, they fit a little differently than what you are probably used to. Here is a quick tutorial on How to get the right fit. The more you wear your Buderflys, the more comfortable they get as they react to your body heat. Put on your favorite podcast, right now we are loving everything from Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History, and wear your buds for a longer period of time (at least 45 min). Your ears adapt to the way Buderflys fit and honestly you might forget you are even wearing them.
Our high-end sound stereo comes with a Balanced Armature (BA) technology and a sound signature that is optimized of the spoken-word like audiobooks, phone calls and podcasts. This means the sound is a little different from what you are used to with earbuds that use dynamic drivers. You may feel like the bass is missing a bit but not to fret the more you wear Buderflys you will start to appreciate the full composition of our higher-end full spectrum speaker system.
When switching sound sources, the industry standard is to use your new speakers/ headphones for at least seven days before making an ultimate decision as that is the average time it takes for the brain to acclimatize to the sound source.
Your wireless Bluetooth® cable comes partially charged so that you can pair your device and start to listening immediately.

GENERAL EARBUD FAQS
You can check how comfortable your earbuds are by rotating them laterally and vertically. How well your earbuds fit to your ears after you move them around in your ears can be a clear indicator of comfort. Earbuds designed for comfort won’t itch or irritate your ears and you should barely feel them. Most earbuds will be able to keep you comfortable for short periods of time, but Buderflys features a patented material designed focused on long-term comfort.
Earbuds won’t be comfortable if they fit improperly within your ear or they have hard plastic designs. This is because the hard plastic design does not move and flex with your ear as you chew, swallow, move, etc. Even if earbuds feature different sized tips on the end of the bud, such as small, medium, or large, because they don’t flex with your ears, they will cause pressure points inside your ears. These pressure points will eventually cause your ears to fatigue.
Buderflys are the only earbuds in the world to use a continually flexing material design that adjusts to your ears as they move and works with your body temperature. This makes Buderflys more comfortable the longer you wear them.
Earbuds are only supposed to hurt your ears if they don’t fit correctly. Earbuds that flex to your ear shouldn’t cause pain and you should feel at-ease while you have them in your ear.
What causes the pain to your ears is the friction between the natural movements of the human ear rubbing against an inflexible material. That is why we designed ours differently. Buderflys continually flex and form to the natural movements of your ear and don’t create pain points. Research also suggests that extended usage of the wrong type of earphones can cause pain. These ill-fitting or overly tight earphones will put pressure on the soft flesh of the outer ear or stretch the inner-ear cartilage too much.
There are a few tips to ensure your earbuds fit correctly.
1. Angle the ear tip slightly downward to make it easier to insert in your ear. 2. Gently twist the earbud to fit it in securely to the shape of your ear. 3. Continue twisting the earbud to achieve the best seal and secure your fit.
If your earbuds don’t feel secure, then your earbuds don’t fit correctly. In this case, you should find a different set of earbuds. Might we suggest Buderflys?
PRODUCT & FIT
Our proprietary material creates a form-flexing, never-hardening material that responds to your body heat for improved comfort the longer you listen.
Yes. However, they are not waterproof, so do not submerge your earbuds in water to clean them, do not get liquid in the openings, and when your earbuds need to be cleaned, use a lint-free cloth very lightly dampened with water to wipe them down. After cleaning, do not use your earbuds until they are completely dry. Moisture in your earbuds can cause temporary performance issues. Do not insert your earbuds if your ears are wet. Always dry your ears completely before inserting your earphones. Should you inadvertently allow water or perspiration into the earphones and they quit working, allow them to dry completely before attempting to use again. Minor moisture build-up should dry out and not impact long-term performance. Extended exposure to moisture or submersion will result in permanent damage (not covered by the warranty).

The Buderflys journey started one day in 2015 on the ski slopes in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Shea, founder and CEO, is an avid skier and consumer of podcasts and audiobooks. While listening to Kill ’Em and Leave: Searching for James Brown and the American Soul by James McBride, her ears were aching and sore under her helmet. It was only after her third run on a bluebird day. At that moment a light went off and after a few chairlift “focus groups”, it was clear that many people disliked the fit and comfort of their earbuds. After years of research, development, designing, testing and lots of podcasts, Buderflys was born.
Since your ears move and change shape every time you move your head, neck, or mouth, hard clamshell-shaped earbuds cause painful friction and fall out. Buderflys are built with a form-flexing compound that allows the bud to fit snugly in your ears and move with you. Our proprietary material uses body heat to mold to your ear, meaning they fit your unique ear shape every time you put them in.
We are a team of thinkers, life-long learners, audiophiles, and explorers. As we walk, work, bike, ski, ride, commute, and occasionally sleep with earbuds, we know that the ability to wear earbuds for long periods, comfortably, and with incredible clarity of sound is vital to how we discover great content and communicate.
Buderflys is committed to sustainability and is working hard to find solutions to lessen our environmental impact. Recycling consumer electronics can be a pricey endeavor so we are happy to do the heavy lifting for you. Please send us a note about recycling your buds and we will send you a shipping label and we will do the rest!
